It took me a long time to come up with the title. The work has to do with the shifts and changes in my personal belief system and the world. They were done at a time when the Berlin wall came down, and the 1989 San Francisco earthquake occured. Everything was changing. The dreams that governed my life changed. I kept doing one triangle after another. Collage prints, drawinings. I heard the word paradigm and i felt that it described what these prints expressed, what they meant to me. It even describes the process by which they were done. Working with very thin layers of transparent ink. Paper stencil blocking the ink at times, allowing the color of precious color to come through. The final print is collaged and the collaged pieces are parts of the other prints. The visual rhythm and integrity of the pieces are from strong pastel colors combined with dynamic movements unifying the whole image. This was also the period of the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune. Where Neptune would dissolve the old structure and Saturn would bring in the new. Essentially these monoprints do the same thing. The color of the sunset, driving across the bay bridge, everything i do comes from nature.
