| My water paintings come from my experience of being in the water. Particularly the warm island waters off the coast of the big island of Hawaii. There is Olivine, a semi-precious stone, in the lava, and it has been ground fine by the action of the waves. This lies at the bottom of the lagoons, reflecting all kinds of light through the waters. These paintings are about this reflection of light and energy, and its effect as a meditative source. The mesmerizing feeling of the waves and the energy of the ocean is nurturing and elevates us to higher levels of consciousness.
The paintings are acrylic on canvas and the sizes vary from 4 feet to 2 feet in dimensions. The water paintings are from the 80s. |
